A Risk Worth Taking

A Risk Worth Taking is a story that I started a while ago. It is my primary project, and I have a prequel and a sequel in mind for it. (I tend to get ahead of myself, because the story isn't even close to being done)

Summary: Angst/Romance/Psychological/Drama

"Love is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for..."

The past can not be erased, and it will not be forgotten. Sometimes, though, it is worth it to try and live again. Sometimes, it is worth risking the pain, in order find love.

*Full Summary* (That desperately needs revising.)

Kaemon was just a kid off the streets, nobody. He wasn't even suppose to exist. He was just another shadow among the many that hid in the alleyways and abandoned buildings. Life had made him hard. Things like love and hope were figments of his imagination. Losing the will to live long ago, he had been to hell and back. Kaemon was only seventeen.

Haily was the new girl. She lived a pretty ordinary life, it seemed. She was good at hiding her pain. Abused by her father when she was young, Haily's memories still torture her soul. The memories that made her wary of everyone, the ones that wouldn't let her have a normal relationship, the ones that would come back to haunt her in the worst way.

When these two souls cross paths, lives will be changed forever. Two people find just what they need in each other. Kaemon would do anything to protect her, but how could he do that when he couldn't even save himself...

Fic is rated R (for violence, language and possible sexual themes)

Chapter 18 - Alive: 50% done.
Chapter 1 revision: in the process of being written. Maybe about 10% done.
Chapter 5 revision: being rewritten completely
Crash and Burn (one-shot): revised

This story is currently in process of being revised. New chapters and revised ones will be released when I complete all the revisions, one chapter at a time if all goes according to plan.

I don't have an update schedule at the moment, but once the old chapters are finished, I'm going to try and update at least once a month. May be more depending on how busy I am otherwise and whether I'm writing for others stories at the time.

Bio:
Kaemon's a street kid that very few people know anything about. He's made quite a reputation for himself in spite of it though, and his elusiveness only adds to the talk. He's been known to get in fights, but rarely goes looking for trouble, and has dealt with the poilce often in the past, his main crime being theft. He is a junior at Tasaki High School and is fairly intelligent. His talent is music, and his guitar is his most prized possession out of the few things he owns.
Kaemon generally keeps to himself, finding it's easier to survive that way. When bothered, he will often ignore the person or get ready for a fight, whatever the situation may call for. He doesn't like to talk much of his past, but he wasn't born on the streets and doesn't intend to live out his days on them. Technically speaking though, he isn't even suppose to be alive.

Bio:
After surviving an abusive childhood at her father's hand, Haily, along with her mother, brother and new step-father move to a quiet suburban neighborhood. She's the new girl once again, this time as a junior at Tasaki High school. She's eager to make new friends, but is having a hard time escaping her own personal demons.
Generally, she is a fairly easygoing person with a kind heart. While she tends to be rather reserved when it comes to her own feelings, she is friendly and other people like to be aorund her. She is often too independent for her own good though, and that can get her into trouble.
